
The Mountain Home junior high track teams competed Thursday in the 5A-East Conference Meet at Paragould.
The Junior Lady Bombers finished second in the team standings with Greene County Tech winning the meet. Individually for Mountain Home, Carson Schmitz won the high jump and finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, Olivia McCoy was second in the pole vault, Mackenzi Clark took second place in the 400-meter dash, Bailey Ritenburg ended up second in the 1600-meter run and fourth in the 800-meter run, Devyn Prins finished second in the discus and fourth in the shot put, Anna McCarn was third in the high jump, Jordan Cruse took third place in the discus, Whitney Wilber ended up fourth in the 1600-meter run, Cara Jackson finished fifth in the long jump, and Merritt McConnell was fifth in the 200-meter dash. In addition, the team of Clark, Wilber, Naomi Wiggins and Ritenburg won the 4×800-meter relay; Lorelai Green, McConnell, Laykin Moore and Schmitz took second place in the 4×100-meter relay; Monica Chafin, Clark, McCarn and Schmitz ended up second in the 4×400-meter relay; and Corena Fox, Green, McConnell and McCarn finished fourth in the 4×200-meter relay.
For the Junior Bomber boys, Levi Utchman won the high jump and the triple jump; Max Hough won the 1600-meter run and was second in the 800-meter run; Robert Dover took second place in the high jump and the 400-meter dash, third in the discus and the 200-meter dash and fifth in the shot put; Adam Jones ended up third in the pole vault; Zane Darracq finished fourth in the 1600-meter run; Ryan Amick was fourth in the 800-meter run; and William Hill took fifth place in the 400-meter dash. Also, the team of Amick, Darracq, Hill and Hough won the 4×800-meter relay; and Amick, Zachary Daugherty, Darracq and Braiden Dewey ended up third in the 4×400-meter relay.
