Yellville-Summit sweeps 2A-1 Junior Conference Track Meet

The 2A-1 Junior Conference Meet was held Friday at Eureka Springs, and Yellville-Summit came away with both team titles.

On the boys’ side, Cotter finished tied for third, and Flippin was fifth. Flippin ended up sixth on the girls’ side. The Junior Panthers had wins from Trenton Purdom in the discus, Carey Martin in the shot put and Tristen Teel in the triple jump. Also for Yellville-Summit, the team of Alex Brotherton, Nicholas Vetor, Landen Keiter and Eli Gerth won the 4×100-meter relay; Brotherton, Caleb Hartle, Denver Layton and Vetor won the 4×200-meter relay; and Hartle, Layton, Jaxton Decker and Vetor won the 4×400-meter relay.

K.J. Moore was the high point winner to lead the Junior Lady Panthers to the team title, and Flippin was sixth. Moore had wins in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 300-meter hurdles, high jump and long jump. Other wins for Yellville-Summit include Riley Hopson in the 800-meter run, Kinley Morris in the pole vault and discus, Abby Methvin in the triple jump and Elle Lee in the shot put. The Junior Lady Panthers’ team of Sierra Burrow, Moore, Chism and Methvin won the 4×100-meter relay; Burrow, Addison Decker, Aliyah Disney and Bayli Teel won the 4×200-meter relay; and Disney, Decker, Fay Chism and Hopson won the 4×400-meter relay.
