Topping the list were two permits to Chad Strauss for a pair of duplex buildings, each totaling 3,370 square feet with a construction value of $275,000 apiece. One duplex will be located at 221 and 233 Turnberry Court, while the second duplex will be at 233 and 235 Turnberry Court.
A permit was issued to Chad Hudson for a fourplex to be located at 368 East 1st Street. The 4,200 square-foot building has a construction value of $240,000. The city also granted Hudson a permit for a 524 square-foot office on the 1st street construction site. The office has a construction value of $25,000.
Forbus Investments received four permits for single family houses. Two of the homes, located at 1342 Hampshire Circle and 1366 Hampshire Circle, each have 2,020 square feet of space and have a construction value of $160,000 each. A third house, located at 1341 Hampshire Circle, has 2,184 square feet and a construction value of $140,000. The fourth house, located at 285 Western Hills Loop, is 1,749 square feet and has a construction value of $115,000.
A permit was issued to Arby’s for a remodel project located at 2811 Highway 62 East. The project has a construction value of $175,000.
Permits for sheds were issued to Richard Smith for 1017 Delwood Circle and John and Georgia Crain for 626 Western Hills Loop. A permit for a storage building was issued to Jonathan Spivey for 200 North Cardinal.
Rounding out the March list are five sign permits.
At the top of the list is permit issued to Electric Connections for 1005 Highway 201 North. The value of the sign is $29,900.
A permit was issued to Arby’s for its 2811 Highway 62 East location. The value of the sign is $27,000.
Resurrection Church was issued a permit for a sign at 2338 Highway 62 West. The value of that sign is $750.
The final two sign permits were issued to Dijohn Designs on behalf of The Market and The Market Salon, both businesses being located at 1160 Highway 62 West. One sign has a value of $385 and the other has a value of $350.
Total construction value of the 17 permits issued in March was $1.4 million.
The cost of all permits issued for the month of March totaled $3,760.90, including the actual cost of building, electric, mechanical, plumbing and rezoning permits.
The city building and inspection department handled 60 inspections for the month.
