A Marion County woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on a rural road in northeastern Boone County. Thirty-seven-year-old Everdawn Carlton of rural Everton was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel on April 7.
According to a recently released report from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Carlton had been in an argument with her boyfriend and drove away at a high rate of speed. She was traveling on Cedar Grove Road when her vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, just west of a bridge. The vehicle came back on the road and rolled once before landing upright and sideways in the road. Carlton was ejected from a side window and landed in the road. She was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
