MHHS track teams finish 2nd in conference meet

The Mountain Home High School track teams came away with a runner-up finish in the 5A-West Conference Meet on Friday. Both team titles were captured by Vilonia.

Individually for the Bomber boys, Whit Lawrence won the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs, Brody Patterson won the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles and finished fifth in the triple jump, Michael Davis was third in the pole vault, Hendrix Hughes took third place in the 3200-meter run, Andrew Westphal ended up third in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs and fifth in the 3200-meter run, Levi Uchtman finished fourth in the high jump, Anderson Hodges was fourth in the 400-meter dash, Robert Dover took fifth place in the high jump, and Adrian Bzdel ended up fifth in the 110-meter hurdles. In addition, the team of Ky Bickford, Anderson Hodges, Bryson Hodges and Patterson finished second in the 4×400-meter relay; Bickford, Anderson Hodges, Bryson Hodges and Max Hough were second in the 4×800-meter relay; and Dover, Brayden Daniel, Lawson Stockton and Landon Speer took fourth place in the 4×200-meter relay.

Marcie Cudworth led the Mountain Home girls by winning the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs. Victoria Bevel ended up second in the discus; Kylee Sabella finished third in the long jump, the triple jump and the 100-meter dash; Cayden Jones was third in the discus; Kinsey Taylor took third place in the pole vault; Emily Payne ended up third in the 800-meter run; Jordan Ritenburg finished third in the 3200-meter run; Emma Wilber was fourth in the high jump; Merritt McConnell took fourth place in the 100-meter dash; and Laurel Chafin ended up fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. The team of Chloe Lydon, Emma Martin, Britney Jenkins and Mackenzi Clark finished second in the 4×800-meter relay; Riley Schmitz, Sabella, McConnell and Chafin were second in the 4×100-meter relay; Kamryn Mullin, Payne, Martin and Clark took second place in the 4×400-meter relay; and McConnell, Kendall Carter, Sabella and Cate Jackson ended up third in the 4×200-meter relay.
