Lakeview man arrested after attacking neighbor

A Lakeview man was arrested after allegedly attacking his neighbor in late May.

Electronic jail records indicate 53-year-old Robert Dean Shaw was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on the afternoon of June 2 after being charged with second-degree battery of a person over 60 years of age. Shaw was released Saturday afternoon after posting a $10,000 bond.

According to the probable cause warrant in the case, Shaw is accused of jumping out of the woods, shining a light on a 62-year-old neighbor who was out for walk and charging him in an aggressive manner. The neighbor stated that Shaw threw him into the ditch, struck him in the face and head several times and then left.

The neighbor is reported to have bled from his head and his knees and that he hyperextended is left shoulder trying to catch himself from being thrown into the ditch.

Another neighbor is reported to have seen the attack and came to aid of the injured 62-year-old. While walking the injured neighbor back to his house, the 62-year-old is reported to have said that Shaw had threatened him in the past.
