While authorities continue to search for an escaped Missouri state prisoner from Gainesville, the vehicle he allegedly stole has been spotted. According to a Facebook post from the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle reportedly stolen by 44-year-old Jason Laird was located at a motel in Lenexa, Kansas.

Laird allegedly escaped from his work detail in central Missouri Tuesday afternoon. He is serving time in the Missouri Department of Corrections for a number of crimes in Ozark County.

Laird is described as a 5’3″ white male, weighing 160 pounds with blue eyes. The Sedalia Police Department says Laird was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, gray pants and black boots.

Anyone with information about Laird’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 and not to approach him.
