A man who pled guilty to drug-related charges and was sentenced to 5 years probation on February 8 and was rearrested just 75 days later on more drug-related charges appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.

Forty-year-old Dakota Rushin was sentenced to six years in prison with a judicial transfer to one of the Community Correction Centers in the state for addiction treatment.

Rushin, who lists an address in Horseshoe Bend, was most recently arrested April 23 when a Mountain Home police officer responded to a report of an unknown male knocking on the front door of a residence along South Main Street.

The officer reported that when he arrived on the scene, he met Rushin on the porch.

Rushin was reported to have claimed his grandmother lived in the home and he needed to go inside.

A second Mountain Home officer arrived on the scene and talked with the homeowner who said she had no idea who the man on her porch was.

Suspected methamphetamine was located in one of Rushin’s boots and a jacket pocket. A pipe used to smoke methamphetamine was also found.

The new arrest triggered the filing of a petition to revoke a suspended sentence in the earlier case.

The state dismissed the revocation petition.
