The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced portions of Missouri Highway 95 in Ozark County will be closed and reduced to a 10 1/2-foot width restriction from Monday, Aug. 9, to Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Work will be done from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, with Saturday work as necessary.

MoDOT says the roads will be receiving seal coats, which is a pavement repair process used on roads with lower traffic volumes to maximize available resources and extend the life of a roadway.

The process involves the spraying of hot, emulsion oil on the surface of the road, followed by finely ground rocks, which are compacted to adhere to the road. Excess material is swept off the surface, leaving an improved roadway for up to seven years. It also provides improved traction.

The workzone will be clearly marked with signs and pilot cars will be used to guide traffic through the work area.
