Dead body discovered amid trailer fire in Sharp County

An unidentified deceased male was discovered in Sharp County Monday morning by firefighters while they fought a house fire.A news release by the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office reports that the Cave City Fire Department was dispatched to the 1400 block of Jackson Springs Road outside of Cave City at 1:05 a.m. for a fully involved, mobile home fire. While fighting that fire, the firefighters located the deceased male inside the residence.

Sheriff Mark Counts, Chief Deputy Aaron Presser and Det. Cody Bailey responded to the scene and are currently investigating the incident. The body has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for an autopsy and identification.

In the news release, Presser states that further information will be released as it becomes available.
