A Mountain Home man was arrested Tuesday after being accused of stealing a chainsaw from a family member.
Austin Keith Vinson has been charged with theft of property and breaking or entering, both Class D felonies. The 22-year-old is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond and has a pickup hold for other law enforcement agencies.
On July 26, a property owner told law enforcement that he had noticed that items were missing from his barn after finding one of the doors halfway open. The owner told authorities that the intruder had avoided the security cameras located around the barn, indicating that the person was familiar with the property. The property owner told authorities he thought the trespasser was Vinson, a family member.
Vinson pawned a chainsaw at a Mountain Home pawnshop on July 27. The victim later identified the chainsaw as being stolen from his barn. The chainsaw was estimated at having a value of $1,200.
Vinson was booked into the Baxter County jail Tuesday evening shortly after 10. He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on Sept. 9.
