
High school football makes up much of the local Friday schedule as Mountain Home opens the 2021 campaign. The Bombers begin the season in front of the home crowd as they meet Harrison.
Mountain Home is coming off a season in which they made their first playoff appearance in four years. The Bombers ended up 6-6 last year after falling to Greenwood in the Class 6A state quarterfinals.
This will be Harrison’s second game of the current season. The Goblins, currently ranked third in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media, are 1-0 after beating Magnolia last week at Harding University in Searcy.
Mountain Home head coach Steve Ary says it’s important for his team to get off to a good start.

Kickoff at Bomber Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Yellville-Summit is set for its road test of the year. The Panthers will be in Ola as they face Two Rivers.
Yellville-Summit is currently 0-1 on the season. The Panthers are coming off a two-touchdown loss to Baptist Prep, and head coach Justin Crain says the team has been looking to make adjustments after last week.

Two Rivers also has a record of 0-1. The Gators were routed on their home field by Quitman last Friday.
Kickoff at Gator Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.
Also on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem travels to Walnut Ridge, Melbourne makes the trip to Quitman, and Mountain View hosts Hoxie. On the eight-man level, Marshall entertains Mountain Pine.
There is one game pairing teams ranked in the Arkansas Sports Media Top 10. Second-ranked Bentonville is at home against No. 10 Conway.
This is the second week of the season in Missouri. Among area schools, West Plains heads to Springfield to take on Hillcrest, Hollister hosts Nevada, Forsyth entertains Buffalo, Branson is home against Ozark, Missouri, Ava hosts Strafford, Willow Springs travels to Marionville, Mountain View-Liberty entertains Fair Grove, Thayer is home against Highland, and Mountain Grove hosts Caruthersville.
