Planned burn scheduled Tuesday around Big Creek Golf Course

A planned burn is scheduled for Tuesday morning on and around Big Creek Golf Course in Mountain Home. The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission is conducting the burn of some of the quail habitat areas around the course.

The Mountain Home Fire Department and the Arkansas Forestry Department will be notified before the burns start.

This project is part of Big Creek’s partnership with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission and their Acres For Wildlife program which reestablishes habitat for native species on private lands, in this case, Bobwhite Quail. These areas wil be planted with a mix of wildflowers conducive to quail in the late part of the coming winter.
