MHHS volleyball team finishes 2nd in West Plains Showdown Tournament

The Mountain Home High School volleyball team was at the West Plains Civic Center Saturday taking part in the West Plains Showdown Tournament. The Lady Bombers came away with a runner-up finish.

Mountain Home’s first bracket match ended in a three-set victory. The Lady Bombers topped Mountain View-Liberty with scores of 26-24, 17-25 and 25-22.

Mountain Home later took another match in three sets. The Lady Bombers beat Blair Oaks in the semifinal by scores of 25-22, 11-25 and 25-20.

Mountain Home wrapped up the day by competing in the title match. The Lady Bombers fell in straight sets as Springfield Catholic posted scores of 25-23 and 25-20.

Carson Schmitz led Mountain Home in bracket play with 22 kills, 29 assists and 19 digs. Kendall Carter recorded 17 kills and 20 digs; Georgia Burnham had 15 kills; Lindsay Jensen finished with 11 kills, 45 assists and 20 digs; Katelyn Hill added 10 kills and 15 digs; Riley Schmitz ended up with 36 digs; Kate Jackson had 28 digs; Tatum Smith recorded six blocks; and Lauren Wehmeyer chipped in five blocks.
