Friday football results include Salem winning at homecoming

Salem was able to remain unbeaten on the high school football season as they played their home opener. The Greyhounds won their homecomimg game Friday with a 30-7 decision over Corning. Salem is now 3-0, and they’ll open 3A-2 action next week as they meet Riverview at Searcy.

Melbourne was able to bounce back from their first loss a week ago. The Bearkatz went on the road and shut out England 40-0 in their non-conference finale. Melbourne improves to 3-1, and they’ll host Newport next week to begin play in the 3A-2.

Mountain View was able to pick up its first home victory of the year. The Yellowjackets nearly doubled up Quitman by a final of 48-27. Mountain View is 3-1 on the season, and they’ll host Poyen next week for their last non-conference game of the regular season.

Marshall got back into the win column on the eight-man level. The Bobcats had a successful road trip as they got past Brinkley 40-34. Marshall improves to 2-2 on the year, and they’ll host Subiaco Academy next week to start a two-game home stand.
