The City of Gassville will add a second well to its municipal water system and cover the cost with federal funds it received from the American Rescue Plan Act.The City Council approved that plan Tuesday night at its September meeting. The city has received a little over $222,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds and will receive another $222,000 from the federal government next year.Danny Ellington of Ellington Engineering of Mountain Home will serve as the project’s engineer.

The city will also use Ellington to address a sewer flow issue Gassville’s waste water system is experiencing on Arrowhead Drive. Should the city have leftover American Recovery Act funds once the well project is completed, those additional funds would be used to replace that affected sewer line.
