Arkansas 41st in recent survey of best places to fish

Arkansas’s fishing opportunities were ranked 41st in a recent analysis of America’s best and worst states for fishing.The report, released by Lawn Love Mowing Services, measured each state’s level of community interest in fishing, how abundant a state’s water sources are, how easy it is for a would-be angler to purchase fishing equipment and the the coast of each each state’s fishing license.

According to the unscientific survey, Alaska was the best state for fishing while Nevada was the worst. The states of Michigan, Maine, Rhode Island, Florida, Hawaii, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Louisiana and Alabama filled out the top 10. Missouri was ranked 31st in the survey.

The Natural State placed 29th in community involvement; 35th in water availability; 13th in fishing license costs; and 22nd in fishing equipment availability.

Alaska ranked No. 1 in community involvement while Michigan, which has the most miles of shoreline of any state, was considered to have the best water availability. Hawaii was ranked the best as far as the cost of fishing licenses, while Montana, which has the most fishing gear stores per 100,000 residents, took top honors in being the state having fishing equipment the readiest available.
