Viola girls’ golf finishes 2nd at state tourney for 2nd year in a row

For the second year in a row, the Viola High School girls’ golf team has finished second in the state tournament. The Lady Longhorns finsished as state runners-up at the Class 1A State Tournament Wednesday at Mountain Ranch Golf Course in Fairfield Bay. Westside Greers Ferry won the title with a team total of 270. Viola shot a 353.

A.J. McCandlis led the way by shooting a 102 to finish fourth overall and earn all-state honors for the second consecutive year. Also for Viola, Kennedy Renfro shot a 122 and Kailey Hallmark had a 129.
