Friday’s football results include Yellville-Summit falling to Bigelow

Yellville-Summit had a rough night in its first home game of conference play hosting another group of Panthers. Yellville-Summit fell to Bigelow, the second-ranked team in Class 2A by the Arkansas Sports Media, by a final of 35-8. Yellville-Summit drops to 1-4 on the season and 0-2 in the 2A-4 and will travel to Quitman next week.

Salem also ended up on the losing end in its first conference home game. The Greyhounds were toppled by Melbourne 49-14. Salem falls to 3-2 on the year and 0-2 in the 3A-2 and will step out the league next week when the Greyhounds go to Lepanto to meet East Poinsett County. The Bearkatz improve to 4-2 and 1-1, and their next game will be in two weeks when they host Riverview.

Mountain View was in Searcy for its first conference game of the season. The Yellowjackets suffered a 38-0 loss at the hands of Harding Academy, the third-ranked team in Class 3A. Mountain View falls to 4-2 on the year and 0-1 in the 3A-2 and will entertain Newport next week.

Harrison bounced back after losing its conference opener last week. The Goblins, currently tied for fourth in Class 5A, went on the road and doubled up Alma 42-21. Harrison is now 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in the 5A-West and will host Greenbrier next week.

Marshall was once again dominant on the eight-man level. The Bobcats wrapped up their current two-game home stand by shutting out Decatur 68-0. Marshall improves to 4-2 and will have their final road test of the regular season next week at Rose Bud.
