The Mountain Home High School cross country teams were in Fayetteville Saturday for the annual Chile Pepper Festival.
The Bombers were third on the boys’ side and were the top team in Class 5A. Andrew Westphal led Mountain Home as he finished 27th in 15:48, and Ky Bickford crossed the line in 16:08. Both were personal bests. Hendrix Hughes finished in 16:44, Anderson Hodges’ time was 17:10, and Ty Lawrence had a personal best of 17:40.
The Lady Bombers ended up in eight place in the girls’ results. Rylee Patterson was Mountain Home’s top runner as she finished 51st in a personal best time of 19:25. Whitney Wilber ended the race in 21:37, Erin Smith crossed the line in 21:41, Bailey Ritenburg finished in 21:57, Cayla McMaster had a season best of 23:15, and Britney Jenkins finished in 23:26.
Mountain Home will host the Bomber Invitational Oct. 16 on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.
