High school football makes up much of the local Friday schedule, as Mountain Home makes its fourth road trip in five weeks. The Bombers will again be near the Oklahoma line, as they meet Van Buren.

Mountain Home is 1-4 on the season and 0-2 in the 6A-West. The Bombers suffered a 24-point loss last week in Greenwood. Van Buren is 4-1 and 1-1. The Pointers are coming off their first loss of the season at the hands of Russellville.

Mountain Home head coach Steve Ary says this is a game with possible postseason implications.

Elsewhere in the 6A-West, Russellville travels to Pearcy to face Lake Hamilton, Little Rock Parkview makes the trip to Benton, and Siloam Springs heads to Greenwood.

Yellville-Summit will be back on the road for another conference outing. The Panthers will be near Greers Ferry Lake, as they take on Quitman.

Yellville-Summit is 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the 2A-4. The Panthers lost at home a week ago to Bigelow. Quitman is 3-2 and 2-0, after beating up on Johnson County Westside, and Yellville-Summit head coach Justin Crain says his team will need to be ready for whatever the Bulldogs throw at them.
