A vehicle parked near the dumpster at the rear of the Goodwill Store attracted the attention of a Mountain Home police officer Oct. 10 and led to the arrest of a Gassville woman.

Fifty-five-year-old Debbra Leann Butterfield appeared during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Monday and entered a not guilty plea to the drug-related charges filed against her.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the officer made contact with the two people in the vehicle.

He checked on both names he was given. One woman reported her name was Debra Beard, but a computer check of the name returned no information.

A second officer arrived on the scene, and the woman was questioned further about her true identity.

She was asked if she had anything in her purse that would verify the name she was using.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the woman “fumbled around in her purse and was acting very nervous.”

After more questioning, the woman finally said her name “may be Debbra Butterfield.”

That name produced a return when it was run through the computer.

Butterfield was shown to have an active arrest warrant out of Stone County.

Upon further searching, the officers found a small plastic bag of methamphetamine hidden in a book. A small metal container with marijuana inside was also found.

She was jailed on charges of possessing drugs and paraphernalia used to ingest drugs, as well as obstructing governmental operations for initially using the false name.
