The Mountain Home High School Bomber Band fared well in a couple of recent competitions.
The band finished in first place in its division at the Branson Marching Invitational held Oct. 16. The band placed eighth in finals with bands competing from Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
The Bomber Band also earned superior first division ratings at the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association Region VI Marching Assessment held in Rogers last Tuesday. This rating is the first part of the Sweepstakes Award, with the concert and sightreading performances coming in March to secure the award. The Bomber Band also qualified for state with its superior ratings.
The band will perform at the state marching contest on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 2:30 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
