
A few area high school volleyball teams began state tournament play on Tuesday.
Cotter’s season came to an end in the Class 2A State Tournament at Quitman. The Lady Warriors lost in straight sets to Life Way Christian by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 25-9.
Flippin was eliminated in a match that needed all five sets. The Lady Bobcats fell to Thaden 20-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-23 and 15-9.
Yellville-Summit was also one and done. The Lady Panthers fell in straight sets as Mansfield posted scores of 25-6, 25-9 and 25-13.
Bergman was eliminated in the first round of the Class 3A State Tournament at Paris. Hoxie defeated the Lady Panthers in straight sets with scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-16.
Harrison was able to advance in the Class 4A State Tournament at Shiloh Christian Secondary School in Springdale. The Lady Goblins won in straight sets as they beat Jonesboro Westside 25-18, 25-17 and 30-28.
