Friday basketball results include MHCA splitting boys’ games at Flippin homecoming

Mountain Home Christian Academy ended up splitting a pair of boys’ basketball games Friday at Flippin’s homecoming.
The varsity game ended with the Eagles defeating the Bobcats 61-55. Gideon Spray led Mountain Home Christian with 22 points, and Gabe Spray added 17.
Mountain Home Christian did not fare as well in the junior high contest falling to Flippin 45-25. The Junior Eagles were led by Isaac Uhlmann with 13 points.

Cotter’s senior boys had a tough road trip. The Warriors suffered a 67-49 defeat at the hands of Calico Rock.

The Viola boys had a good night, as they made a short trip to Mammoth Spring. The Longhorns topped the Bears by a final of 50-42.

Ozark Mountain’s high school teams were able to sweep Thaden at Rogers. The Bears pounded the Barnstormers 63-36 in the boys’ game. The girls’ contest required the mercy rule, as Ozark Mountain beat up on Thaden 61-31.

Izard County came away with one win, as they had three games at Sloan-Hendrix High School in Imboden.
The Cougars lost the senior boys’ game to the Greyhounds 55-49. Gunner Gleghorn was Izard County’s top scorer with 23 points.
Izard County suffered the same result in the senior girls’ contest. The Lady Cougars lost to Sloan-Hendrix 46-21.
Izard County’s lone win was in the junior girls’ game, as they beat Sloan-Hendrix 38-22. Quinn Johnson paced the Junior Lady Cougars with 17 points.

The Lead Hill High School teams picked up a sweep over Ozark Catholic in Springdale. The Tigers took the boys’ game over the Griffins 60-48. Lead Hill also won the boys’ contest 31-24.

Bergman’s boys had a successful first night in the Acorn Classic. The Panthers put the mercy rule in effect, as they destroyed Cossatot River 74-42.

Both of Valley Springs High School’s teams were able to invoke the mercy rule, as they swept Alpena. The Tigers routed the Leopards 82-49 in the boys’ game. Valley Springs also dominated the girls’ game 71-40.
