Marion County Quorum Court facing 15-item agenda

The Marion County Quorum Court will meet in regular session Tuesday evening at 6 with a 15-item agenda for consideration.

Among the items the court will consider are ordinances to levy tax millage rates for 2021, the annual operating budget for 2022 and the establishment of a special revenue fund for building permits and inspection fees. The court will also consider an ordinance regarding premium pay of almost $500,000 among those employed with the county from Feb. 1 – Dec. 31, 2020 under the federal American Rescue Plan of $3.35 per hour. The proposed ordinance also covers 15% of the gross pay for the justices of the peace. Additional proposed ordinances would amend the responsibilities of the county library board and realign the county fair and livestock advisory board.

The meeting will be held in the Marion County Courthouse.
