Friday basketball results include Cotter sweeping Omaha, Norfork girls topping Valley Springs

Cotter was able to pick up a sweep on Friday, as they played three basketball games at Omaha.
The Warriors took the senior boys’ game 51-46 over the Eagles. Hayden Hutson led Cotter with 18 points, and Jeffry Haynes added 11. The Warriors improve to 4-3 on the season.
Cotter also beat Omaha in the senior girls’ contest 63-37. The Lady Warriors were led by Kate Cheek with 33 points, and Morgan Zick chipped in 12. Cotter is now 4-1 on the year.
The evening started with the junior boys’ game as Cotter topped Omaha 36-28. Brayden Adams was the Junior Warriors’ top scorer with 11 points. Cotter’s record stands at 6-2.

Norfork’s girls were able to get the win at Valley Springs’ homecoming. The Lady Panthers got past the Lady Tigers by a final of 55-45.

Flippin’s boys put the mercy rule in effect Friday in Bentonville. The Bobcats routed Haas Hall Academy with a 65-25 decision.

Viola won a pair of girls’ games hosting Shirley for homecoming.
The Lady Longhorns dominated the senior high game, as they blew past the Lady Blue Devils 56-16. A.J. McCandlis paced Viola with 12 points, and Kailey Hallmark scored 10. The Lady Longhorns improve to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the 1A-2.
Viola’s junior girls also beat up on Shirley 48-27. The Junior Lady Longhorns were led by Cheyenne Newberry with 13 points, and Marissa Hutson had 12. Viola is now 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in the league.

The Calico Rock High School teams came away with a sweep, as they hosted another group of Pirates from Concord. Calico Rock took the boys’ game 63-51. The girls’ contest was more lopsided, as Calico Rock pounded Concord 44-16.

The Izard County boys had a rough night in Greers Ferry. The Cougars fell to West Side by a score of 59-44.

Mammoth Spring’s boys were edged out at Bay 63-62. Gavin Boddie was the Bears’ leading scorer with 18 points, Nathaneal Rogers finished with 13, Blake Rogers ended up with 11, and Brayden Cray added 10 points. Mammoth Spring will take on Hillcrest on Tuesday.

Lead Hill’s high school teams went on the road and split with another group of Tigers at Green Forest. Lead Hill captured the girls’ game 41-27. Lead Hill was not as fortunate on the boys’ side falling to Green Forest 52-49.

The Bergman High School teams swept their homecoming games against Jasper. The Panthers won the boys’ game over the Pirates 81-63. Bergman also took the girls’ contest 77-36.
