Norfork girls, Flippin boys among hoops winners Monday night

In high school basketball Monday night, in girls’ action, Norfork improved to 6-0 with a 59-40 win over Conway Christian at the Clinton Tournament.

Mammoth Spring lost to Marmaduke 80-66 to fall to 6-2 on the season. Brynn Washam paced the Lady Bears with 20 points, Chevelle Graves had 14, and Laney Young scored 11.

In boys’ action, Flippin was a 64-54 winner over Kingston to improve to 4-2 on the campaign.

On the junior high level, Izard County swept all four games at Salem.

The Junior Cougars rallied from eight points down in the fourth quarter to squeak by Salem 51-50. Noah Mosely led Izard County with 19 points, and Kasen Black added 15.

The Junior Lady Cougars were 35-28 winners to improve to 7-0 on the season. Quinn Johnson scored 26 of Izard County’s 35 points.

Izard County won the junior boys B game 30-5 and the junior girls B game 14-9.
