
Basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule and includes the season opener for the Mountain Home High School girls. The Lady Bombers’ campaign begins in front of the home crowd, as they meet Bentonville.
Mountain Home is coming off a season in which they finished with a record of 5-21. With a team that was 70% sophomores, the Lady Bombers wrapped up the year by falling at Russellville in the second round of the 5A-West District Tournament. Mountain Home head coach Dell Leonard says this year’s team is young as well.

Tuesday’s activities at Bomber Gymnasium begin at 5 with the seventh grade girls holding a Blue-Gold scrimmage. The varsity game will tip off around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere on the high school level, Norfork travels to Shirley, Yellville-Summit hosts Mount Judea, Calico Rock makes the trip to Fox to face Rural Special, Salem entertains Walnut Ridge for three girls’ games and sends three boys’ teams to Southside Batesville, Izard County heads to Concord, Mammoth Spring is home against Hillcrest, Melbourne sends three girls’ teams to Trumann, Timbo hosts Pangburn, Lead Hill entertains Bergman, Omaha travels to West Fork.
In junior high basketball, Jasper makes the trip to Alpena.
