A fire at Silver Dollar City Thursday has closed the theme park for the day.
According to the Silver Dollar City social media post, the fire was discovered prior to opening. Damage was reported to three structures in the lower western portion of the park.
The fire began about 12:45 p.m. and was reportedly contained within the hour.
While the front entrance area had opened, as usual, one hour prior to the park opening, the majority of the venue had no guest access.
The cause of the blaze is still being investigated.
The park will reopen Friday.
