The identities of two victims from a Friday night residential fire in West Plains have been released. According to the West Plains Police Department, the bodies were identified as 79-year-old Marvin Polzin and 75-year-old Linda Polzin. They were believed to be the homeowners.
The West Plains Police Department (WPPD) and West Plains Fire Department and Rescue responded just before 9 to a structure fire in the 1500 block of Missouri Route BB. A caller indicated two individuals were stuck in the residence. Upon arrival of the first officers at the scene, the entire structure was involved with heavy smoke and fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office and the WPPD.
