
Basketball makes up much of the local Tuesday schedule, as the Mountain Home High School teams have their first road test of the season. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will be in the northeast portion of the state, as they meet Paragould.
Both Mountain Home teams are 0-1 on the season. The Lady Bombers started the year two weeks ago, when they suffered a nine-point loss to Bentonville. Mountain Home’s boys fell by 12 to Har-Ber on Nov. 18.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5 at Doc Paynter Court. The varsity contests begin around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Fans can also view the games on the Bomber Sports Network channel on YouTube.
Gainesville’s boys are set to begin their season in the Forsyth Tournament. The Bulldogs will face Berryville at 7:30.
The Dora girls are slated for their first game in the Fordland Invitational Tournament. The Lady Falcons take on the host Lady Eagles at 4:30.
The Bev Stone Border Classic will continue at Omaha. On the girls’ side, Jasper and Green Forest tip off at 4, and the host Lady Eagles play the New School at 7. On the boys’ bracket, Jasper will be paired with Blue Eye at 5:30, and Kingston meets the New School at 8:30.
Elsewhere on the high school level, Mountain Home Christian Academy hosts Mount Judea, Cotter entertains Yellville-Summit, Norfork is home against Izard County, Flippin travels to Alpena, Viola hosts Timbo, Calico Rock entertains Mammoth Spring, Ozark Mountain faces Lead Hill on the Western Grove campus, Salem is home against White County Central, Dora’s boys travel to Summersville, Melbourne hosts Highland for three boys’ games, Marshall makes the trip to Bigelow, Mountain View entertains Harding Academy, and Rural Special is home against Concord.
In junior high basketball, Harrison’s freshmen head west to take on Fayetteville White, and their seventh and eighth graders host Green Forest.
