
The holiday calendar is packed with activities this weekend across North Central Arkansas.
The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Home for Christmas” festivities begin Friday evening.Included in the festivities is the Mountain Home-Town Christmas Festival. The festival will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Along with the festival, the annual Mountain Home Christmas parade will be held Friday at 6 p.m.
LESLIE
Santa in the Park will be held at Leslie Friday evening from 6 until 8.
WEST PLAINS
In West Plains, the Toys for Tots Christmas Concert will be held Friday and Saturday evening at 6:30. The event will be held at The Barn Event Center, located at 10105 U.S. Highway 63.
The event is a fundraiser for the area’s Toys for Tots. Admission is one new unwrapped toy or a donation at the door.
BULL SHOALS
On Saturday evening, the Bull Shoals Chamber of Commerce will hold its Light up the Night Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting . The parade route will run for Marilyn Avenue to the VFW at 6. No registration is required. Line up is at 5. The tree lighting will be held at 5:30 on the lawn of Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
SALEM
Salem’s Christmas celebration kicks off at 8 Saturday morning at 8 with the Run, Run Rudolph 5K. At 5 Saturday evening, the community’s tree lighting on the square and The Very Merry Christmas Parade are scheduled.
BAKERSFIELD
In Bakersfield, the community is set to celebrate A Toyland Christmas Saturday. Activities begin Saturday morning from 9-11 with Breakfast with Santa in the school cafeteria. The cost of the pancake and sausage breakfast is $2 per person.
The Bakersfield Christmas parade will be held at 11:30. Line up at the high school parking lot begins at 11.
ASUMH
The Coulter Celebration of Lights continues through Dec. 27 on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home from 5:30 to 10 each evening.
COTTER
The Cotter community is also celebrating a dazzling holiday display throughout December, with the relighting of the R.M. Ruthven Bridge having kicked off on Wednesday evening. Other events are set for Dec. 18.
