
High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule, as Mountain Home continues action in the Branson Battle at the Border. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will meet Lake Hamilton.
Both Mountain Home teams are 1-2 on the season. The Bombers and Lady Bombers began on Thursday by getting past Mount Vernon, Missouri.
The girls’ game tips off at 4 followed by the boys’ contest. Both will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and on the Bomber Sports Network channel on YouTube.
Three area teams will play their second games in the Willard Basketball Classic. Harrison’s girls will compete in the semifinals against the host Tigers at 5:30 at the high school. On the boys’ side, Flippin’s game in the consolation semifinals will be against Camdenton at the middle school, and Harrison faces Bolivar in the semifinals at the high school. Both games are set for 8:30.
The Gainesville boys will take part in their second game in the Forsyth Tournament. The Bulldogs take on Reeds Spring at 6.
Bergman’s girls will play for the championship of the Blue Eye Invitational Tournament. The Lady Panthers will be paired with the host Lady Bulldogs at 7:30.
Elsewhere, Mountain Home Christian Academy travels to Mountain Grove Christian, Cotter makes the trip to Rogers to play the Arkansas Arts Academy, Flippin hosts Green Forest, Yellville-Summit heads to Decatur, Viola travels to Lead Hill, Izard County makes the trip to Thayer, Dora’s boys entertain Mountain View-Liberty, Mammoth Spring is home against KIPP Blytheville, Melbourne hosts Cedar Ridge, Marshall heads to Mount Judea, Timbo travels to Oark, Mountain View makes the trip to Newport, Rural Special heads to Greers Ferry to meet West Side, Valley Springs travels to Mount Vernon-Enola, and Jasper hosts the Harrison Homeschool teams for homecoming.
