
The Christmas season in Mountain Home officially kicked off with a bang Friday night. The Mountain Home-Town Christmas Festival began Friday night and will continue on Saturday.
The tree was lit at the Mountain Home Plaza 2000, and the parade soon followed. Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Dani Pugsley says they had a huge crowd and a record number of floats.

Moore is also with First Security Bank, the three-year sponsor for the tree-lighting ceremony. He says the staff at the bank love this time of the year.

On Saturday, The Mountain Home Rotary Club is hosting its annual fundraising event, “Pancake Day Breakfast with Santa,” beginning at 7:30 and continuing until 11:30 in the cafeteria of Mountain Home High School Career Academies. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
Pugsley says the festival will get back underway Saturday morning at 10.
