Basketball makes up much of the local Saturday schedule, as the Mountain Home High School teams will wrap up action in the Branson Battle at the Border. The Bombers and Lady Bombers is set to meet the host Pirates.
Both Mountain Home teams are 1-3 on the season. The Bombers and Lady Bombers both fell to Lake Hamilton on Friday.
The girls’ game tips off at 3 followed by the boys’ contest. Both games can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and on the Bomber Sports Network channel on YouTube.
Gainesville’s boys will compete for the championship of the Forsyth Tournament. The Bulldogs meet Hollister at 7.
The Izard County Invitational Tournament will get underway at the Cougar Den on the campus of Izard County High School in Brockwell. A junior high doubleheader will be played between Melbourne and Rural Special starting with the girls at noon. Rural Special’s senior boys meet Cave City at 2, and the Salem senior girls face Izard County at 3.
The championship games of the Bev Stone Border Classic will be held at Omaha. Jasper’s girls take on Kingston at 6, and the Marshall boys will play the New School at 7:30.
Bergman’s boys will be back in West Fork for the title game of the Duel at the Dome. The Panthers will be paired with the host Tigers at 5:30.
