An area man is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teen. Forty-year-old Larry Hamby of Melbourne is facing a felony count of fourth-degree sexual assault.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the Izard County Sheriff’s Office received reports on Friday of the relationship between Hamby and the teen. The victim claims she and Hamby had inappropriate sexual contact on at least one occasion while she was 15 years old. Investigators searched the victim’s phone and reportedly discovered text message correspondence between her and Hamby in which they detailed their relationship. On more than one occasion, they allegedly exchanged sexually-explicit videos and photographs.
Hamby’s bond is set at $10,000, but he also has a hold for another agency.
