The Bull Shoals White River Chamber of Commerce is the latest in the area to join a list of communities hosting a Christmas lights contest.
Residents and businesses of Bull Shoals and Lakeview are encouraged to join in the competition.
The contest features both residential and commercial categories. Prize baskets will be given to winners in each category.
To enter by Monday, complete a form available at bullshoals.org or visit the chamber office, located at 612 Central Boulevard, for a paper copy. Judging will be held on Wednesday.
In addition to Bull Shoals, the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce is presenting the “Light Up the Night” holiday light competition again this year.
Residential prize categories include The Griswold (because you can never have too many lights) and People’s Choice award. The Griswold award will be voted on by sponsors, while the public will have the opportunity to vote via text for the People’s Choice award. Commercial entrants will compete for the Best in Show Award, with the winner receiving a trophy, bragging rights and a donation to a charity of choice.
Residential prizes are sponsored by North Arkansas Electric Cooperative, with Elmcroft Senior Living of Mountain Home sponsoring the commercial category.
In Salem, the chamber of commerce’s annual Christmas Lighting Contest is underway and entries are needed to brighten the Fulton County city for the holidays.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three entries, including $500 for first place.
All entries must be completely decorated by Saturday.
The winners of the competition will be announced Wednesday.
