SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — A man accused of pointing a gun at police officers in Springfield is in custody.
Springfield police say Talon Williams was arrested Monday afternoon after a manhunt that lasted several hours.
A news release said officers saw a spray-painted Chevrolet van at a convenience store just after 2 a.m. Monday and realized the driver was Williams, who had a warrant for a parole violation. As officers tried to speak with Williams, he allegedly pointed a gun at officers, who responded by firing into the van.
Williams was apparently not struck by a bullet and drove away. The van was later found abandoned.
After a search of several homes, Williams was found and arrested around 4 p.m. Monday. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney.
