A second person has announced his candidacy for Baxter County judge in 2022. Eric Payne of Lone Rock will run as a Republican.

According to his announcement, Payne is a lifelong resident of Baxter County. His family ancestry in the county dates back to the 1800s. He graduated from Norfork High School and attended Pulaski Technical College.

Payne says, “As a business owner of a construction/excavating business, I am thoroughly familiar with the social and geographic composition of our county. My credentials include knowledge of road building and maintenance; in depth management, budget and manpower experience; and a committed work ethic.”

Payne is the second person to announce a run for Baxter County judge. He joins Brian Plumlee in the Republican Primary in May.

Payne and his wife have three children.
