Multiple charges have been filed against a Baxter County man following a one-vehicle accident that left a passenger with serious injuries and endangered a 2-year-old.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 36-year-old Matthew B. Maley of Norfork was the driver of the vehicle that crashed on Dec. 17 at the intersection of Arkansas highways 341 and 201.

The Arkansas State Police report notes Maley’s vehicle was northbound on Highway 341 when he failed to stop at the intersection of the two roadways.

Maley’s vehicle traveled across the T-shaped intersection and struck an embankment.

There were two passengers in the vehicle, including a 2-year-old seated in the passenger side rear of the extended cab pickup. The toddler was in a child booster seat, not the state-law required child safety seat.

The report notes the second passenger, an unidentified female, was seriously injured in the collision, due to her not being properly restrained.
