
The winners of two local lighting competitions have been announced.
The Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce presented three awards for its “Light up the Night” competition.
For the residential categories, the Griswold Award was presented to house number one located at 343 County Road 1082. The winner for this category was determined by the number of lights on display and voted on by sponsors.
The People’s Choice Award was presented to house number 37 located at 25 Noles Court. The winner for this category was determined to have the most votes sent in by text.
Each winner received $100.
In the commercial category, the Best in Show Award was presented to Colton’s Steakhouse and Grill. The winner was selected by Mayor Hillrey Adams and the business owners received a plaque, bragging rights and a donation to the charity of their choice.
In total, 37 residents participated in the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce “Light up the Night” competition.
The City of Cotter also presented three awards for its light competition.
First place went to the Anitonis, whose home is located at 159 Wallick.
Second place went to the Taylors, whose home is located at 179 Wallick, and third place went to the Bells, whose home is located at 154 Monroe.
