Third-grade students in 12 area school districts are playing in new athletic shoes courtesy of North Arkansas Electric Cooperative’s (NAEC) Sole Power Project.
The electric cooperative reports in its monthly publication, The Messenger, the service project began eight years ago as a way to help third graders in local public schools.
The project demonstrates NAEC’s concern for community, one of the seven principles by which the co-op operates.
Students receiving the athletic shoes are in the Calico Rock, Cave City, Cotter, Highland, Hillcrest, Izard County Consolidated, Mammoth Spring, Melbourne, Mountain Home, Norfork, Salem and Viola school districts.
