Tuesday basketball schedule includes MHHS hosting Vilonia

Basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule, as Mountain Home concludes its current home stand. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will meet Vilonia to continue conference play.

Mountain Home’s girls are 3-11 on the season and 0-1 in the 5A-West. The Lady Bombers suffered a four-point loss to Siloam Springs on Friday. Vilonia is ranked seventh overall and No. 1 in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Lady Eagles are 10-2 and 1-0 after breezing by Alma.

The Mountain Home boys are 2-11 overall and 0-1 in the league. The Bombers began the conference slate by losing to Siloam Springs. Vilonia is 7-7 and 1-0. The Eagles beat up on on Alma on Friday.

The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 4:45 at Bomber Gymnasium. The varsity contests begin around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Elsewhere in the 5A-West, Greenbrier hosts Russellville, Siloam Springs travels to Alma, and Van Buren makes the short trip to Greenwood.

Elsewhere on the high school level, Mountain Home Christian Academy heads to West Plains to face Ozarks Christian, Cotter entertains Life Way Christian, Norfork travels to Greers Ferry to take on West Side, Flippin is home against the Arkansas Arts Academy, Yellville-Summit makes the trip to Eureka Springs, Calico Rock travels to Timbo, Bakersfield makes the trip to Mountain Grove Christian, Gainesville’s boys host Sparta, Western Grove heads to Lead Hill, Salem travels to Providence to play White County Central, the Lutie boys entertain Cabool, Izard County will send two girls’ teams to Marmaduke, Dora’s boys make the trip to Koshkonong, Mammoth Spring is home against Maynard, Marshall entertains Bigelow, Mountain View heads to Cave City, Rural Special is home against Shirley, Bergman hosts Greenland, Valley Springs travels to Elkins, and Jasper makes the trip to Deer.

Viola was scheduled to travel to Concord, but those games have been postponed until Feb. 3.

Four of Mountain Home’s junior high teams will be on the road for an outing with Melbourne. The seventh grade girls’ game tips off at 4 followed by the seventh grade boys and both eighth grade contests.

In other junior high basketball, Omaha entertains Green Forest.
