The Mountain Home High School wrestling teams went to Searcy for the 5A-East Conference Tournament on Saturday. The Bombers and Lady Bombers both left with the runner-up trophies.
Michael Davis, Austin Callies and Noah and Elijah Lagg led Mountain Home’s boys by winning the individual titles in their weight classes, and five more of their teammates were also named All-Conference. Ethan Munden, Joseph Pierski, Isaiah Merry and Christian Mason ended up with second-place finishes, and Chris Henry was third in his division.
Amelia Frounfelter won her weight class and was one of eight Lady Bombers on the All-Conference team. Jasmin Flores, Emalyn Stephens and Breanna Balsano were each runners-up, and Lacey Causey, Kylie Alford, Gracie Wisnioski and Jordan Cruse were each third.
The Arkansas High School State Wrestling Tournament is less than a week away at the Jack Stephens Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The Mountain Home girls will hit the mats Thursday, and the Bomber boys are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
