Makeup basketball games set for Friday, MH postponed

Weather permitting, there will makeup basketball games on Friday.

Three area girls’ teams will try a third time to play their openers in the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at Hillcrest Elementary School in Lynn. Norfork and Marked Tree tip off at 4, and Viola faces Mammoth Spring at 7.

The Class 2A Central Regional Tournament is scheduling Wednesday’s games for Friday at White County Central High School in Providence. Melbourne’s girls take on Conway Christian at 4. On the boys’ side, Melbourne plays Bigelow at 5:30, and Salem will be paired with Maumelle Charter at 8:30.

Other regional tournaments are scheduled to start Saturday. Those tournaments include the Class 2A West Regional Tournament at Eureka Springs, the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament at County Line High School in Branch and the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament at Booneville.

Mountain Home’s season finale against Alma has been postponed. A makeup date has yet to be announced.

Two area teams are looking to secure a state tournament berth in Missouri.

Lutie’s boys will be in Chadwick for the championship game of the Class 1, District 4 Tournament. The Indians meet the host and top-seeded Cardinals at 7:30.

The Dora girls will play for the title of the Class 2, District 10 Tournament. The top-seeded Lady Falcons will be matched up with the host Lady Bulldogs at 5:30.
