High school basketball is scheduled for Friday, as state tournaments continue in Arkansas.
Four local teams will have their openers in the Class 2A State Tournament at Junction City. On the girls’ side, Yellville-Summit and Marmaduke tip off at 1, Cotter meets Riverside at 4, and Flippin faces Rector at 7. Cotter’s boys take on Marianna at 2:30.
Both of Harrison’s teams will be in Magnolia to begin action in the Class 4A State Tournament. The Lady Goblins play Wynne at 4, and the Harrison boys will be paired with Joe T. Robinson at 5:30.
In Missouri, a state tournament bid is on the line for three area teams.
West Plains’ girls return to Marshfield to play for the championship of the Class 5, District 5 Tournament. The top-seeded Lady Zizzers face Rolla at 6.
Two area teams will compete in the finals of the Class 4, District 11 Tournament at Mountain Grove. The Ava girls take on Willow Springs at 6, and Hollister’s boys play Willow Springs at 7:30.
