
The ballot in Marion County for the Preferential Primary Election in May is set following a drawing for positions Thursday morning.Marion County and Circuit Clerk Dawn Moffet says challenger Jason Stumph will have the top position for judge, with incumbent Judge John Massey second.
In the race for sheriff, Gregg Alexander drew the top slot, with Dustin Earl Beals listed second. Incumbent Sheriff Clinton Evans is not seeking reelection.
In other local races, Carla Purdome’s name will be listed first on the ballot for the position of county collector, with Angela Goodman second.
Susann Crespino will be listed first on the ballot in the race for county treasurer, with Anthony Todaro second.
There is one primary race for a seat on the quorum court. Dr. John D. Reed’s name will be listed first, with Raymond Mayo second.
In the race for District 4 state representative, challenger Bruce Emerson drew the top spot, with incumbent Rep. Jack Fortner to be listed second.
All of the primary races are on the Republican ticket.
In the non-partisan race for District 10 judge, Robert “Bob” Lowery drew the top spot, with Samuel Pasthing to be listed second and Jodi G. Carney third.
The Primary Election is set for May 24, with early voting starting May 9. The deadline to register to vote, for those not already registered, is April 24.
