
There were a few area baseball and softball teams in action Wednesday.
The Mountain Home High School baseball team downed Mammoth Spring 15-0. The Bombers are now 2-2 on the season.
In other baseball action:
-Izard County shut out Norfork 6-0 to improve to 2-0. For the Cougars, Gunner Gleghorn went three-for-four at the plate with three runs driven in, Landon McBride went two-for-four with two RBI, Gavin Stephens drove in a run, and Noah Mosley scored twice. On the mount, McBride worked five innings, scattering three hits and striking out seven. Denton Reilly worked the final two innings, allowing one hit and striking out six.
-Melbourne lost at Walnut Ridge 6-2.
In softball:
-Harrison split a pair of games at Rogers Heritage. The Lady Goblins topped Van Buren 11-0 but were roughed up by Gravette 22-5.
