Two area high school girls’ basketball teams in Missouri were in action Saturday with a trip to the Show Me Showdown on the line.
West Plains punched its ticket after winning its quarterfinal game in the Class 5 State Tournament at Bolivar. The Lady Zizzers defeated Carl Junction 55-46. West Plains improves to 25-4 on the season and will meet Smithville in the semifinals Friday on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield.
Ava watched its season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the Class 4 State Tournament. The Lady Bears fell to Helias Catholic 56-49 at Lebanon. Ava’s final record on the year is 22-6.
